The Guam Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing an important clarification regarding the dieldrin situation affecting Guam’s northern water wells. In an earlier report by the Office of the Governor, it was mistakenly stated that two wells in Yigo were affected. That was an error. To clarify, only one well in Yigo is impacted, specifically well Y-15. At the direction of Acting Governor Josh Tenorio, the Guam EPA has established a dedicated hotline to assist residents with questions regarding dieldrin. The hotline is available daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 671-888-4342. Additional resources, including a fact sheet and a risk assessment document, are available online at epa.guam.gov.
